SPSS when doing PCA disregards computation of factor scores other than Regression

Kirill Orlov
In SPSS FACTOR procedure, when factor extraction is "PC" (i.e. principal component analysis is performed) and the user wants to save Bartlett's or Anderson-Rubin factor scores, the program will still compute and save scores from Regression method - which in case of PCA are the exact component scores.

Why so? It is inconvenience and shortcoming - because sometimes one might want Bartlett's or Anderson-Rubin scores even with PCA, in spite these are not typically computed within PCA, in practice.
